MTB MISSION STATEMENT More than Basketball (MTB) is a program that goes beyond shooting hoops. It is a lifestyle that provides a passport for young boys into manhood. Our mission is to promote a lifestyle that uses sports to underscore the importance of maturing and personal growth into manhood. Our goal is to instill the value of academics first; teaching our youth how to behave like gentleman while enforcing a strict but positive code of conduct to serve as their creed as they move toward manhood. This will be accomplished by planting seeds in our children to promote Economic Development, Education, Health Care, Social Consciousness, and Political Awareness. Our youth will be exposed to a collective group of professionals whose ultimate goal is to water the seeds we plant in our children so they can make a difference in the world. MTB is about developing a community of go-givers and soldiers in the pay it forward army. Our children are from diverse walks of life and backgrounds who wish to experience different things. MTB is committed to creating a New Urban Renaissance: a new way of thinking, being, and doing, to elevate our community. And play some great, COMPETITIVE basketball at the same time!!!
